Some weeks ago I was asked to photograph a little family in Upper Bavaria. They live in a small village nearby the Lake Starnberg. To be honest, I’ve never been in Starnberg before, because I actually connected rather negative thoughts with that little town and its very rich and homogeneous population. But now I have to admit, as almost everywhere in Bavaria, it’s very beautiful there, too! The little villages around Starnberg are much more beautiful. You can find some original, traditional and very old farm houses there that look picture-perfect. In one of these houses, actually in a house that is part of an old estate, lives C. with her family.
When she told me about the house, the way she is living and raising her children, I knew that I would go there to make their photos. I also knew that it would be like a little holiday for me, and I was absolutely right.
It may not fit in the current cold, grey winter and christmas reality, but I want to share some of these autumn-pictures with you anyway. Finally, I want to thank C. and her family for asking me to go there, to enter their little magical surrounding far away from the stress and speed of the city. I enjoyed it very much!
